483 new buses to Uttarakhand under promotion scheme

Uttarakhand Chief Minister, Harish Rawat as part of the CM Tourism Promotion scheme today announced to induct 483 new buses in the fleet of the Uttarakhand Roadways Transport Corporation at Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) here today. He also flagged off a new night bus service to Kotnali via Kotdwar from Dehradun. Some luxury buses had also been added along with ordinary buses to the URTC fleet.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister, Mr. Harish Rawat said there was long felt need for new buses and more modern buses would be added to the fleet of the state roadways. He said the roadways should now earn profit and make it a habit. He said there was also a need for an ultra-modern workshop for the upkeep of these buses. He said the loans of the roadways had been written off with an aim to making it profitable. He further said there was need for change in work culture and ethics to make the state roadways on sound financial footings. He said to take load off big buses, smaller buses and maxi cabs had been introduced. He called upon the staff and officers of the roadways to change their plans and make the roadways profitable. Forest and Sports Minister Dinesh Aggarwal was also present on the occasion.
